These photos are completely mixed up... the wooden duck lives on my dashboard, the dinosaur around my house protecting electronic equipment(mostly phones, wireless routers, and computers) My dad was in the glass box that juts out of Willis/Sears Tower, Joey ran a race(in yellow) (he came in third that day for the open-men's team score, the team got third, too(it was an 8k!) also I know way too much/a surprising amount about running/cross country these days) Some pictures of a coffee shop in Syracuse, of Fairport Park (where the cross country race was this week), some beautiful sky and park, my new 'couch' and a glance at my apartment at some point. Oh and day of the dead bread that my mom and dad mailed me in early november! (with hot cocoa, of course) I have a good bit more, but it is much too late now.

Ah, that's right, while the guys(and women) were warming up, I went for a quick hike through the woods in the park and stumbled upon that huge structure made of wood, there were quite a few random piles of things that day, actually.

Gulu and neema get married

This weekend Gulu and Neema got married in Shelbyville, Kentucky! What a perfect happy occasion, congratulations neema and gulu!

SO there are a series of photos that I did no take, that I snagged from Andrea(from Tulane/Amnesty/New Orleans). They are all out of order, I'll comment before the pictures. For example this first one is of Neema dancing up a storm, as he does:

Here is the general dance floor Music varied from indian pop to indian pop to stuff I had no idea how to identify to contemporary(ish) american pop and hip hop.

Gulu and Neema: (this is Gulu's first outfit for the night)
Leah and Andrea!!! I haven't seen them in sooo soooo sooo very long! Leah is living in Miami working at a non profit and Andrea in Atlanta, also recently wed.

The handsome couple, of course had very very very many photos of them taken.

I managed to find a handsome date to the wedding, too( here we are in the middle of dancing, hence the pinkness and the shiny)
Thi is how gulu was introduced to the reception to "Damn Girl" by Justin Timberlake, of course. her true love.
She was wearing very very high heals. That is Soha on the left(oldest sister) and Sana? on the right(youngest)

And then.. there was dancing....

Antibalas Concert at Millenium Park! Free international music series... though

True, this is part of the international series, but Antibalas is based in Brooklyn. It is afropop funk, with a bit of acidjazz sounding awesome.
Their opener was The Very Best (pictured second)

A random assortment

As usual, this is a random assortment of photographs.....

We had a picnic out on the point a while back and had a camp fire where we roasted some food and saw the city lights from afar:

This was after a visit to a Cuban restaurant.
We went to a place called Zapatista's this is Crystal sitting with me:
And the table we ended up being way more people than expected. Radha is on the left in front and a gaggle of people behidn us includes Beth, Lindsay and some people I don't know very well!
Ms. Katherine and I had to do some post dinner cash collection to pay and were goofing around, as we do.

Oh, there is the point again, before night, of course, Blanca, Cate, Saalim, Crystal, Chris, Beth, Ben(in the tree), and strangers are in the photo.

This is just a random meal i made one day. it looks pretty gross in this picture, i suppose, but it was delicious.

photos from January through March- Late Winter in Chicago and Cincinnati

Well, it seems that I tend to forget to post photos.... I am no longer doing the "Photo-a-day" thing, this might explain it...

This is the sky and trees in the outdoor/ amphitheater across from the Cincinnati Art Museum
The museum is nestled up on a hill in a park that includes small trails, a conservatory(Krohn Conservatory), a park, and other nice little nooks and crannies. I found this on a paved trail that led out of the park towards an old facade of what used to be the Natural history museum.

Here is the reflection pool(i think that's what it's called)
Just north of the Park neighborhood and... East of Obryonsville(where I started my day, where Joey's work is) This little/huge gem popped up out of nowhere, this is across from a local diner, just siting there, with no explanation.

The day before(we are traveling back in time), I came upon this door, which i thought was neat.. .and then i looked down to the bottom right and saw that there were two doorways here! this is in Covington, KY

A block away: One of the churches in the back(the one furthest back) is called Mother of God

This is from who knows when(february? january?), when the food explorers went up north to have ethiopian food. That's Chris sitting next to me.

The roommates and i occasionally have amazing cooking creations, Dan P and I created a soupy stewy ricey concoction that fed us for about two weeks.
In January we baked a marble cake... it was snowy and cold outside with a beautiful 4pm sunset

and we were too impatient to wait for the cake to cool, so we improvised:

Well, the traditional(now it's traditional) potted tree was up again this year, and we had visitors! Oh family time:
